UPSC announces new examination schedule

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the updated schedule for the examinations that it conducts.

As per the new schedule, the UPSC CSE prelims exam will be held on October 4, 2020 and the mains exam will be held on January 8, 2021. The original date for the prelims examination was May 31, 2020 and for the mains exam it was 18 September 2020.

The CSE prelims exam is also used to select candidates for the mains stage of the Indian Forest Services (IFoS) exam. However, the mains stage of the IFoS examination is different from that of the CSE and is scheduled to be held on February 28, 2021.

The UPSC Combined Geo-scientist Examination 2020, for which no announcement had been made before today, has also been rescheduled to August 8, 2020. The preliminary stage of the examination was held on January 19, 2020 and the mains examination was initially scheduled to be held on 27th and 28th June 2020.
